Welcome to Prep for Success / How to Use this Course

Welcome!

If you believe a great education will change your life, you're in the right place!

My father only made it to elementary school and my mother only made it to middle school. Which is why it was super important for them that we get an education. And not work in a Chinese restaurant one day or clean houses like they did.

Almost 10 years after graduating from Georgetown University, I know a few things.

Preparation is key.

Having the right support and network is important.

Believing in yourself and your abilities is required.

Since graduating, I have worked as a fashion merchandiser for major retail brands, done corporate marketing and event planning for a Fortune 100 company, and started my own business of helping others through the college application process.

Since graduating from top schools in the country, my brother and I have drastically changed quality of life for my parents and our families. It has been worth the work.

Whatever your goals are, we aim to help you meet them here - without breaking the bank.

With that said, please listen to our Welcome message below or read it below. :)

Hello! And welcome to Prep for Success: College Planning for Teens! My name is Anna Ren and I'm from Elite Advantage Prep College Admissions Consulting. I'm here and so excited to be a part of your college admissions journey.

As you look, there are different sections of this course. You can jump around and pick whichever ones you need. Or you can look by preparation by year, which tells you exactly what to do at different points of your high school career. You can also check it out by the different components of the college application, in which we recommend different steps and actions you can take.

I recommend you print out the College Gameplan below and check out the Tracking College Planning Tasks before you start any of the modules though, so that you are acquainted with how to schedule time on your calendar to work on your college applications. The KEY is to START EARLY. College applications can take a lot of time, so I recommend you start earlier rather than later. If you are a senior, we recommend starting the process in July before your senior year.

The modules contain video, audio, resource links, and templates for you to utilize on your application journey to your dream schools. As an enrolled student, you will see that there are actually multiple videos for each module sometimes, especially for ones like crafting the college application essay, which has three videos with over 25 minutes of video to show you how to craft a memorable essay.

I list a lot of resources throughout the course. But if you ever need to access them all in one place, you can find them in the Your Questions Answered section. Here you'll be able to ask any questions and I'll answer them or you can look up any resources mentioned in the lectures.

In addition to Your Questions Answered, if you have any question within any section, feel free to post it in the comments section and I'll respond to your question. I want to make sure your questions get answered.

I invite you take advantage of every resource and feel free to contact me with questions in the Ask a Question section. Look forward to having you in this class!

Thanks and have a wonderful time!!
